
School of Life
The Christine Avery Learning Center’s School of Life Workforce Development Program prepares middle school, high school, and young adult participants for postsecondary education, employment, entrepreneurship, and life stability. A core component of this program is structured exposure to industry professionals, financial experts, and social-emotional development practitioners who provide real-world insight, mentorship, and practical skills training.
Counselor In Training Program
Is a structured workforce development initiative designed to prepare middle and high school students for careers in education, youth development, and related service fields.
The program provides hands-on experience within CWA’s early learning and school-age environments, allowing participants to build practical skills while earning leadership opportunities in a supervised setting.
Internship Program
This program is designed for college students and young adults ages 18–22 seeking career-focused experience. Interns work in areas like early learning, afterschool programs, administration, and nonprofit operations.
They take on hands-on responsibilities such as supporting programs, tracking data, and assisting with projects related to their field of study.
Interns receive mentorship and real-world experience to build skills, strengthen their résumés, and prepare for their careers.


NC Apprenticeship Program

CWA is proud to be a Registered Apprenticeship sponsor through North Carolina's ApprenticeNC program. Our apprenticeship provides paid, hands-on learning combined with structured classroom instruction, preparing future early childhood professionals with the skills, experience, and nationally recognized credentials needed for long-term career success.
